Latest grant recipient of the Algorand Foundation, asalp, is bringing fundraising to Web3.

Launching in a few weeks is asalp, a London based start-up who have created a decentralised platform for charities to accept donations in cryptocurrency and reward donors with a new asset class, Charity NFTs. Each campaign a charity launches is limited to 10,000 C-NFTs that can be rewarded to donors; initiating a collectable and tradable NFT collection reflective of a charitable donation.

Charity NFTs (C-NFT) are generative works of art made by machine learning Ai that tailors the intricacies of the design to the social cause donated to whilst also making the art more complex and beautiful depending on the donation amount. asalp is a key pioneer of transferring fundraising platforms onto Web3 and integrating smart contracts with them to remove any intermediary and create a more decentralised user experience. The start up is ultimately acting as the bridge between art, fundraising and blockchain.

The innovative project is expanding to include recurring monthly payments for charities (in crypto); support personal fundraising campaigns; the ability to rent a C-NFT; DeFi games and their own utility token.

What better for a charity’s fundraising efforts if their payment processor was green ?

asalp CEO Milo Simpson–Pedler explains:

“An idea like this is only possible on Algorand due to the scalability of their blockchain and thus it allows asalp to introduce charities to exciting fundraising techniques for the modern world. With cash donations accounting for 50% of charity income and cash circulation in decline, charities need to embrace the cryptocurrency concept and reposition themselves for the changing donation demographic.”
